The Invisibles

"...know the value of the world and not its economic potential.
It means art, it means time, it means all the invisibles
never counted by the GDP and the census figures.
It means knowing that life has an inside
as well as an outside.
And I think it means love."

Letting go

People get into a heavy-duty sin and guilt trip,
feeling that if things are going wrong,
that means that they did something bad
and they are being punished.
That's not the idea at all.

The idea of karma is that you continually get
the teachings that you need to open your heart.
To the degree that you didn't understand in the past

how to stop protecting your soft spot,
how to stop armoring your heart,
you're given this gift of teachings
in the form of your life,
to give you everything you need
to open further."
~Pema Chödrön

Intensity is the desire to receive.
Open yourself to light and you will become light.

Universe

True stories are the ones that lie open at the border,
allowing a crossing, a further frontier.

The final frontier is just science fiction -
don't believe it.

Like the universe, there is no end.

No One is listening

If you listen and pay close attention to what is,
you will discover that there is no past, no future,
and no one listening.

You cannot hear yourself listening.
You live in the eternal now and you are that.
It is really extremely simple, and that is the way it is."
— Alan Wilson Watts

Breathe

"Breathe in, breath out.
Oxygen is carcinogenic and likely puts a limit on our life span.
It would be unwise though, to try to extend life by not breathing at all.

Which of us doesn't do it?
Either we loll in anaerobic stupor,
too afraid to fill our lungs with risky beauty,

or we roll out fire like dragons,
destroying the world we love..."

Karma

What can i tell you about the choices we make?
Fate reads like the polar opposite of decision,
and so much of life reads like fate.

The pull of past and future is so strong
that the present is crushed by it.
We lie helpless in the force of patterns inherited
and patterns re-enacted by our own behavior.
~Jeanette Winterson

How people treat you is their karma;
how you react is yours. "

A second of wakefulness

"Do you wake up as I do,
having forgotten what it is that hurts or where,
until you move?

There is a second of consciousness that is clean again.
A second that is you, without memory or experience,
the animal warm and waking into a brand new world.

There is the sun dissolving the dark,
and light as clear as music,
filling the room where you sleep
and the other rooms
behind your eyes."

Don't Resist the Flow

"...The point is, not to resist the flow. You go up when you're supposed to go up and down when you're supposed to go down. When you're supposed to go up, find the highest tower and climb to the top. When you're supposed to go down, find the deepest well and go down to the bottom.

When there is no flow, stay still. If you resist the flow, everything dries up. If everything dries up, the world is darkness. 'I am he and/ He is me:/ Spring nightfall.' Abandon the self, and there you are."
— Haruki Murakami

"Precipitate as weather,
she appeared from somewhere,
 then evaporated, leaving only memory."
